Lang Fang UTS expands HP Indigo technology capacity to deliver personalized products
Singapore, August 14, 2019 — Lang Fang UTS New World Digital Printing Co., a leading provider of high-quality, customizable print products, has expanded its production capacity to meet market demand by doubling its HP Indigo 12000 Digital Press fleet to four units.
At Print China 2019, UTS purchased two new 29 inch (B2) sized HP Indigo 12000 units to boost digital print capacity at its new facility established to operate the presses in Langfang, Hebei Province, China, strategically positioned to serve printing demand between Beijing and Tianjin. The addition of the presses makes UTS the biggest HP Indigo B2 factory in China.
“UTS has achieved groundbreaking growth with HP Indigo digital printing technology,” said Zhang Lei, General Manager, UTS. “The HP Indigo 12000 sheet size is the key of success for UTS, opening the possibility to deliver unique, personalized products without giving up fast turnaround.”
The new fleet of presses has enabled UTS to reach 24/7 production, Zhang Lei said. UTS is using the HP PrintOS cloud-based management system to simplify and automate production processes, as it strives to maximize capacity and efficiency of existing equipment.
“It’s fantastic to see UTS growing rapidly in the vibrant Chinese printing market. The new possibilities offered by HP Indigo digital printing are enabling them to produce and automate production of new, high-value applications that enhance and sustain business,” said Alon Bar-Shany, general manager, HP Indigo.
At Print China, UTS won a HP Digital Print Excellence Awards 2019 for its outstanding production of a restaurant menu. The competition recognizes outstanding accomplishments and innovations by print service providers (PSPs) across Asia Pacific and Japan.
The addition of the two HP Indigo 12000 presses significantly increases productivity with a robust digital 29-inch press for any commercial application on almost any substrate. The unmatched range of media capabilities includes synthetic, metalized and canvas using One Shot technology. Advanced color capabilities include up to 7 ink stations and special inks such as HP Indigo ElectroInk White and fluorescents.
Growing with HP Indigo digital printing
In 2007, Zhang Lei saw the opportunity of digital transformation in the printing industry. In 2014, UTS acquired a HP Indigo 5600, which doubled its business volume and encouraged UTS to purchase a HP Indigo 7800 in the following year. Greater productivity attracted more large orders, requiring the company to further improve its capacity and efficiency. Eight months later, UTS acquired a HP Indigo 10000. In April 2018, the company installed its first HP Indigo 12000. ■
